At God Inspired Ministry, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive support to individuals facing homelessness and other challenges. Our services include job readiness training, temporary shelter, access to hygiene facilities, and daily meals. We work closely with each person to identify the resources and opportunities that best fit their needs, helping them find stability and hope. Our mission is to empower and uplift those in need, treating everyone with dignity, respect, and compassion.

How to Apply for Assistance

If you or someone you know needs help, please fill out our application form. By providing us with some basic information, we can better understand your needs and connect you with the appropriate resources and support.

  • Breakfast and lunch served to all program participants and walk-ins.
  • Hygiene Access
  • Showers, toiletries, and personal hygiene products available on-site.
  • Clothing Closet
  • Clean clothing and interview-appropriate attire provided.
  • Community Closet for the Whole Family
  • Clothing, shoes, and essentials for men, women, and children—ensuring the entire household is supported with dignity.
  • Temporary Shelter Access
  • Emergency shelter coordination and assistance with transitional housing placement.
  • Employment Readiness
  • Resume building
  • Interview skills coaching
  • Job application assistance
  • Access to computers and job boards
  • Identification & Document Assistance
  • Help obtaining birth certificates, Social Security cards, and state IDs.
  • Case Management & Referrals
  • Individualized case planning
  • Referrals to healthcare, mental health, legal aid, substance abuse services
  • SNAP & Medicaid Enrollment
  • On-site assistance enrolling in essential government benefit programs.

Mind 2 Thrive Initiative (4-day intensive empowerment program):

  • Day 1: Intake, goal-setting, resume creation, and journaling about life changes.
  • Day 2: Interview prep, daily schedule planning, clothing assistance, job applications, SNAP/Medicaid sign-ups.
  • Day 3: Personal hygiene, etiquette, budgeting, and trauma/mental health discussions.
  • Day 4: Budgeting finalization, surveys, counseling, employment and housing confirmations.

  • Peer support
  • Vision board creation
  • Continental breakfast daily
  • Bus tokens and to-go meals
  • GED prep support (in partnership with Calcasieu Literacy Council)

 

Additional Services:

  • Survivor Support
    • Special programming for survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence, including trauma-informed care.
  • Follow-Up Services
    • Three months of post-program check-ins, transportation assistance, and peer mentoring to maintain stability.
  • Community Events & Outreach
    • Health fairs, holiday meals, clothing drives, and connection to local churches and service providers.
